Hello and welcome to Homemade Solar Panels. My name is Marc, and this is my story.

I am a tinkerer, there is no getting around that. I like doing random DIY projects both around my home and at the cabin. A few years ago, I became really interested in solar panels for our sailboat and during many hours of reading and research, I came across the possibility of building your own homemade solar panels. As a self-proclaimed tinkerer, I jumped at the opportunity and started looking for the materials and instructions to get it done. Turns out, that part was harder than I thought. I scoured the Internet for both with limited success. Eventually, after much time, trial and error, I found what I needed and was off. I am here to help make that process faster and easier for you so you can learn from my mistakes and my research how to get your own homemade solar panels project done so much easier.

I am also an aspiring cattle rancher. If anyone knows about cattle ranching, it means hundreds of acres, most of it far from the electric grid. I intend to continue building my own solar panels to power the barn, and various other buildings across the property that are too far to reasonably tie into the grid. This means that I will be going through more of my own DIY homemade solar panel projects right along side you!
